Cyberpunk 2077 release date, trailers, screens, next-gen details and more
CD Projekt Red will release its first major game since The Witcher 3 later this year, with Cyberpunk 2077 coming for numerous platforms, including the next-gen consoles and Google Stadia.
Here is what we know about it so far, thanks to gameplay trailers, the studio’s own Night City Wire online event and much more.
What is Cyberpunk 2077?
First announced in 2012, Cyberpunk 2077 is a massive, open-world role-playing game based on a pen-and-paper RPG by Mike Pondsmith. The tabletop game has been known by several names through iterations – including the ironically-named Cyberpunk 2020 – and CD Projekt Red’s videogame version will be based on different rules and characters from its lifespan.
Unlike The Witcher series, which was presented in third-person, Cyberpunk 2077 is presented in first-person (save from cutscenes and some elements, such as the Braindance feature – see below).
You can create your own male or female lead character, with respective full voice acting throughout.
It is also a strictly adults-only game, with swearing, extreme violence, sex scenes and other elements of a graphic nature.
Cyberpunk 2077 release date
Originally slated for April 2020, the release date subsequently slipped to 17 September. However, CD Projekt Red was to delay its general release again, to the current date of 19 November.
This was to ensure that the game shipped in the most perfect form possible, to allow for extensive bug testing.
Cyberpunk 2077 formats
Cyberpunk 2077 will be first released for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It will then appear on Google Stadia before the end of 2020.

If you buy the PC version, it will be available on Nvidia GeForce Now too.
The game will also be released for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 when they are available.
CD Projekt Red also announced that, should you purchase the Xbox One or PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077, you will get an upgrade to the respective next-gen console edition for free.
